  • The “V” in CHVRCH serves as a connection back to the context in which the early church began. During the time of Jesus the Roman Empire had only 23 letters in their alphabet. When seeking to mark important events, people, or places into stone for posterity, they would carve these letters in uppercase, with beautifully proportioned straight lines, curves, and angles.

    What more important event, person, or place is there than the birth of the church, the person of Jesus, and all the places where Christ’s church gathers to worship?

    We can think of no one, no place, or no person more important.
